Senior Graphic Designer Remote with 8+ Years Experience

The Role

Andelo is the production team Australian marketing managers call when freelancers go quiet and agencies cost too much. We deliver design across dozens of brands every month, with 1-2-day turnarounds and the standards of a Sydney agency.

Most days you'll work within a brand group you know well, going deep on craft. Some days you'll extend beyond it: supporting another brand, jumping into a different format. The goal isn't constant context-switching. It's deep craft, delivered fast.

We're hiring a Senior Production Designer who loves the craft and wants to do the work, not manage the work.

This is not a creative leadership role. It's a hands-on production role for someone who can deliver world-class craft at agency pace.

What "Senior" Means Here

Years of experience don't guarantee capability. Here's what senior actually means at Andelo:

• First drafts that are 85-90% there. Your work arrives nearly complete, not as rough concepts.
• 1-2 revision rounds on average. You interpret briefs accurately and need only minor refinements.
• Reads briefs accurately in English. Written briefs come from clients and account managers in English. You can read complex briefs without missing details. We test this in writing.
• Strong design fundamentals. You make work that holds up to scrutiny. You understand hierarchy, type pairing, contrast, and composition at a level where you can defend your choices. You don't just execute trends, you know why your work works.
• Technical depth. You understand master pages, paragraph styles, global swatches, and proper file structure. You build files correctly, not just hack them together.
• Layout and typography skills. You can handle multi-page documents like brochures, reports, and presentations, not just social tiles.
• Self-sufficient problem-solving. You handle complex briefs independently, asking smart questions upfront rather than needing constant guidance.
• Proposes, doesn't just execute. You read briefs, spot risks, and suggest alternatives before you start. You ask sharp questions and propose solutions, not just clarifications. If you wait to be told what to do, this isn't the role.

If your work typically requires 3-4+ rounds of revision, that's normal for mid-level designers. This role just needs someone who's moved past that stage.

This Role Probably Isn't Right For You If

• You're looking for creative leadership or art direction responsibilities
• Your portfolio is mostly social media graphics without multi-page layout work
• You've spent your career deep on one brand. The multi-brand pace will feel jarring.
• You've worked exclusively as a freelancer without agency or in-house team experience
• You wait to be told what to do. You execute exactly what's briefed without asking if it's the right approach.
• High-volume work feels draining rather than satisfying
• You're not familiar with print design output and requirements

What You'll Do

• You'll deliver design assets daily across the spectrum: social, digital ads, print collateral, presentations, brochures, and marketing material.
• You'll work directly with our Project Coordinators who handle client communication, so you stay focused on the design. You'll use ClickUp for everything, with concise updates and smart questions. You'll propose, not just execute. When you spot a better approach, suggest it. When a brief has gaps, ask sharp questions before guessing.
• You'll follow brand guidelines precisely and organise files according to our SOPs. The work needs to be clean, fast, and right the first time.

Requirements

• 6+ years professional experience, with at least 4 years in hands-on production roles (executing design, not directing or managing). Agency, production studio, or structured in-house team.
• Multi-brand experience: you've worked across several brands at once, not deep on one for years
• Portfolio depth beyond social media: brochures, whitepapers, presentations, reports, ebooks. Social-only portfolios won't be considered.
• Printing output knowledge
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
• Working knowledge of Figma and Canva
• Availability during AEST business hours, with some flexibility for async collaboration

5. Brief Execution Test. Two-hour timed test. You'll get a real-style brief and execute it.
6. Verification. We verify experience claims with previous employers before an offer.
7. Offer. 3-month probation period.
