BukuWarung is building the digital and financial backbone for millions of micro and small businesses across Southeast Asia. Our Operations team owns the full lifecycle of the payment devices we put in merchants' hands: QRIS Soundbox and EDC terminals. Device volume is set to grow several times over through 2026, and we are scaling it with smarter systems and automation rather than simply adding people.

About the Role

This is a role for an operator who takes real pride in getting things right. You will own a simple promise: every device we ship actually works for the merchant who receives it, from the moment an order is placed through to their very first transaction.

It is a broad, end-to-end mandate. Two product lines, EDC and Soundbox, and the whole journey of a device: preparing and shipping it correctly, getting it registered and activated, keeping the data behind it clean, and bringing returned units back to life. You will lead the team that does this work and build the quality standards that let it scale.

What You Will Own

Quality & Data Integrity:

• Own the quality gate that guarantees every device leaves correct and ready to use, across both product lines and for both new and returned units.
• Keep the data behind each device accurate and reconciled across our systems, so nothing ever ships mismatched.
• Own order preparation for dispatch: validation, product matching, and getting each unit right the first time.

Device Mapping & Registration:

• Own device mapping and the registration process with our bank and payment partners.
• Run each registration batch end to end, catching duplicates and rejections before they ever become a merchant's problem.

Payment & Activation Operations:

• Own device activation across every channel, direct, field, and partnership, through to a confirmed first transaction.
• Own the payment-side operations that keep merchants transacting: activation and account setup, terminal configuration, and clean handling of refunds and cancellations.
• Turn the manual workarounds that bridge system gaps today into documented, repeatable steps that are ready to automate.

Repair & Refurbishment:

• Own the loop that brings recovered devices back into service: assess, repair, re-verify, and return them to deployable stock.
• Make repair-and-redeploy a real cost lever, working with Logistics and Finance on the repair-versus-replace calls.

AI-native Operations:

• Lead an exception-first operation where AI agents handle the routine checks and your team focuses on what genuinely needs a human eye.
• Work the flagged exceptions, resolve them, and feed the patterns back so the standards keep getting sharper. You own the human check on the machine.

Team & Leadership:

• Hire, coach, and grow the team through a period of fast expansion.
• Build resilience through cross-training, so no critical step ever depends on a single person.

What We Are Looking For?

• 4 to 9 years in operations, payments, data, or another environment where accuracy really matters, including at least 2 years leading a team. More experience and broader leadership maps to the Senior Manager level.
• A track record of holding quality and accuracy at scale, where a single error carries a real downstream cost.
• Strong people leadership: you have hired, coached, and grown a team through change.
• You thrive in fast-moving, unstructured environments and enjoy building processes from scratch, not just running a machine someone else built.
• Sharp with data and detail; comfortable in spreadsheets and reconciling numbers.
• A clear communicator in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, including writing simple, usable instructions for your team.

Nice-to-have

• Background in payments, POS or EDC terminals, telco device provisioning, or any serialized-device operation where one wrong detail breaks a live service.
• Familiarity with device registration, activation, or repair operations.
• Genuine curiosity about running a team alongside AI, and any hands-on experience with automation.

What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months)

1. Quality holds: device error rates stay flat or improve even as volume climbs toward the year-end peak.
2. Activation is visible: every device is tracked through to its first transaction, with no blind spots.
3. The refurb loop runs: recovered devices are routinely brought back into deployable stock.
4. The team is resilient: every critical step has a trained backup, with AI-assisted QC running against clear standards.
