Master Data Analyst

Role Purpose

A Master Data Analyst is responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving the quality of a company’s master data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across systems and business processes. Examples of master data:

• Chart of Accounts
• Vendor master
• Customer master
• Material/Production/Maintenance master
• Bank master
• Tax and pricing data

In ERP systems such as SAP, this role is important because incorrect master data can impact purchasing, payments, inventory, reporting, and other operations.

A strong Master Data Analyst:

• Delivers accurate master data reporting
• Meets compliance, audit readiness and ensure transparent change logs
• Flawlessly manage any data migration timely and accurately across entities
• Trusted by team in providing a reliable foundation for purchasing, payments, inventory, and reporting
• Continuously identifies inefficiencies and leads to automation, standardization, and measurable reductions in non‑productive time.

Key Responsibilities

1. Create, update, and maintain master data

• Create new records
• Update existing information
• Block or deactivate obsolete data

2. Data quality management

• Identify duplicates
• Validate completeness and accuracy
• Standardize naming conventions and formats

3. Data governance and compliance

• Ensure adherence to company policies
• Maintain approval workflows and audit trails
• Support internal controls and compliance requirements

4. Data analysis and reporting

• Monitor data quality KPIs
• Analyze trends and root causes
• Prepare reports and dashboards

5. Support business operations

• Work closely with Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, and Treasury teams

6. Process and system improvement

• Support automation initiatives
• Improve workflows
• Assist with mass uploads and data migration
• Participate in ERP testing and enhancements

7. Stakeholder coordination

• Communicate with business users
• Resolve data-related issues
• Provide guidance and training when needed

Education Requirement

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Accounting or Finance.

Skills & Experience Required

The ideal candidate will have:

• 2–7 years of experience in accounting operations, Record to Report, or master data management
• Experience in shared services or managed services environments preferred.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, energy, or petrochemical industries is an advantage.
• Mandatory hands-on SAP FI experience.
• High ownership mindset and attention to detail to ensure data accuracy in maintaining reliable master data
• Strong understanding of:
• Financial close mechanics
• Balance sheet substantiation
• Fixed assets accounting
• Internal control frameworks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to work under pressure during close cycles.
• Fluent English communication skills (mandatory).
